Last month thousands of Haitians joined migrants from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador massing under bridges and overwhelming local authorities and understaffed Border Patrol. Now immigrants must stay in Mexico while their asylum case is pending.
  • The FDA approved the first injectable HIV prevention medicine, which was shown to reduce HIV infection by 69% among high-risk study group. The shot is taken every two months, and when combined with a daily oral medicine, was 90% effective at preventing HIV.
